Welcome to Trainor!
Trainor Project Services Canada Ltd is excited to be the first Trainor company to be established in North America. Although Trainor has been growing rapidly serving the needs of Canadian and American companies in Asia and around the North Sea for many years, we have not served these valued Clients in their home lands. Trainor Canada is seeking to develop the market for all four of Trainor’s main service lines, starting out focusing on projects in Western Canada’s booming resource industry.
Trainor Canada’s Staffing & Recruiting Division will focus on meeting the short- and medium-term requirements of companies for hard-working, qualified, and experienced consultants, as well as trying to help companies attract permanent employees. When whole teams or sections of project business are in need, Trainor is ready with Project Support Services. The rapid growth in Western Canada has lead to a skill and experience shortage. The average seniority in certain sectors is less than two years! Trainor’s strength and established leadership in Technical & Safety Training in the Electrical field in Norway will be used to establish high-quality Electrical Technical & Safety Training courses adapted to meet the local needs in Canada, and later the USA as well. Trainor’s industry leading e-courses promise to be an effective and cost-efficient way for companies to ensure a desired standard of awareness, knowledge, and competence in their work places. Finally, there is also an opportunity for Trainor’s specialized Controls & Measurements services to help increase the safety and efficiency of the earthing/grounding systems of our Client’s power facilities.
It is an exciting time of growth and development in Alberta and the rest of Western Canada. Trainor services are focused on helping our Clients meet their goals which will result in Western Canada continuing to become an even better place to live, work, and prosper!

History
Trainor was created in 1995 after an amicable employee buyout of the training division of ABB Industries AS of Norway (Tonsberg). Our first contract in Asia was as ABB in 1994. After the buyout, Trainor continued to expand its business in Asia, mainly in the oil and gas business area of the South China Sea. With 17 years prior experience within ABB, Trainor was well prepared to enter the market. Trainor set up an independent office in China in June, 2000 after incorporating Trainor Asia Ltd (HK).
With a solid background in technical, management, and safety training, Trainor expanded fully into management and technical services (consulting and staffing business) in 1999. Trainor grew with the Asian market and established offices to serve NorthEast Asia out of Beijing in 2003, while continuing to support SouthEast Asia out of the offices in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Although initially focused on projects involving international majors, the growth in business locally in China offered Trainor the opportunity to set up a Chinese company to focus entirely on the needs of local Chinese companies for consultants, training, and HSE services.
Trainor’s latest expansion is into Canada. The office was established in Calgary in the fall of 2007 and started business development in early 2008. Although some time will be required to adapt to this new market, we anticipate that once established the potential for growth in Alberta will be significant!
