Welcome to Trainor!

Trainor Staffing Services focuses on meeting the short- and medium-term requirements of companies for hard-working, qualified, and experienced consultants. Whether for operations or for a project, our focus is on providing quality support to both our Clients and our Trainor Team members. Our offices are located in close proximity to our Clients to ensure efficient communication and timely response. Our offices are limited in size to ensure personal and frequent interaction with our Consultants. We believe that if we take good care of our Consultants, they will provide more efficient service to our Clients, and our Clients will get the best value in the market!

Trainor Recruiting Services taps into our extensive global network of consultants, resources, and industry partners to help our Clients fill permanent positions.

Together, Trainor Canada’s Staffing & Recruiting Division gives our Clients the option to handle as much or as little of the placement and on-going care of their chosen candidates as they chose at the time. Trainor has been welcoming consultants from all over the world for over a decade. Trainor values the open and respectful multi-cultural environment that we have nurtured throughout the years. Whether it is ensuring a smooth mobilization or providing on-going support, Trainor candidates can rely on Trainor to keep them well informed, at ease, and focused on meeting the challenges of their new positions.

SUPPORT SERVICES

Welcome to the Trainor Team! We aim to be the agent of choice for consultants working in the Oil & Gas and PetroChemical industries we cover. Our goal is to make the lives of our consultants as convenient as reasonably possible so that they are able to focus on doing the best job possible for our Clients. For your mobilization, you will have full assistance and support in the process of making travel arrangements and handling the application for visa, work, and resident permits. We will assist you to find a place to live where you can enjoy comfort, convenience, and relaxation in your time away from work. Once you are settled in, we will ensure that your long term accommodation needs are taken care of and that utility bills and maintenance will not bring unnecessary burden. We can cover workers compensation and liability insurance on your behalf, as well as providing an above average medical insurance plan. Our dedicated staff are always available to ensure that you get the support you need.

CV / RESUME ADVICE

How to present your CV?

As we handle a substantial number of CV's / Resumes, we can offer the following suggestions to those intent on successfully securing an international position in their respective fields.

Keep in mind your recruiter may be wading through 100's of CV's so make yours easy to read and to easy find all the information required in the correct order.

We have included a Downloadable Format to use as a guide. Following this format will ensure you include all essential information needed by Trainor and any other recruiting entity.

The ideal CV should be approximately 3-4 pages in length. Keep the format of your document simple and avoid using boxes, frames, and other tricky formatting tools, as these often create difficulties when preparing your CV for presentation to a client. Use the full-page width available rather than wide margins. Please remember; "Long is not necessarily good". A professional, compact, two page CV is preferred to a 6 page sparsely filled or overly detailed document.

Put your JOB TITLE at the very top of your CV / Resume. There is nothing more annoying than having to search for the job title the candidate has held or is seeking.

Be sure to include all contact details and also back-up or permanent contacts where you can be reached in case current numbers or email addresses become obsolete. Include age, nationality and contact addresses.

It is a good idea to insert a concise SUMMARY of your work history and experience.

If the position requires proof of qualification, then next, briefly note your Education & Qualifications, otherwise this section can be inserted toward the end of your CV.

When describing your WORK HISTORY, i.e. previous positions and responsibilities, list in reverse chronological order (Current first) and put as much technical detail as possible while keeping it concise. Include accurate start and finish dates for each position, including location and employer. Experience within the last 5 years should be described in detail, approximately 5 lines per year. Experience between 5 and 10 years old should be summarized slightly, perhaps 3 lines per year. Experience beyond 10 years may no longer be relevant, keep these descriptions very concise, 1-2 lines per year of experience. The above is a rough guideline, it is more important to ensure that you include all information relevant to the job that is being applied for.

Near to the end of your CV, you should include a list of any relevant training courses, or other qualifications or useful information.

It is advisable to include at least 3 Qualified Referees with all their current contact details. At the very least, you should have such Referee information ready to send should you choose NOT to include in your CV.

Good luck!
